Newfietom replied to post #3: 4 Cak... the original question: askville.amazon.com/whoopie-pies-flat-st... and recipes... to summarize: YUMMY! So, you still have sticky whoopie pies (sounds terrible). Sorry the other ideas didn't work out.

I know this is going to sound strange, but I've been thinking about this since you asked the question originally. I got jonesing for some whoopie pies and made some right about that time. And I notided that they DID get sticky on the outside (of course, that didn't stop me from eating them -- LOL).

Here's my new theory. They're so full of sugar (which is hygroscopic -- meaning it attracts moisture) they don't have a chance of staying "out-of-the-oven fresh" for very long. All the moisture of the filling, the air, etc and they're bound to soak some of that up and that's gonna make them feel sticky on the outside.

Short of eating them all nearly immediately, I'm not sure how you can avoid sticky whoopie pies. Sorry.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
