Becoming an officer from enlisted ranks in British army.?

There is nothing particularly outstanding about what you've mentioned (sorry to burst your bubble). You need a degree if you are going to get anywhere (this includes future promotion. Graduates are promoted twice as fast as no grads.

Unless you are trying for something in engineering I'd give Welbeck a miss. As for your background, in certain regiments such as cavalry (tanks) and also any regiment in the household division (Household Cavalry and foot Guards), your back ground will still matter. Apart from that only your own ability will hold you back!

What you are trying to do is tick all the boxes doing the things you think the army require from future officers do not forget voluntary work. The only way to can guarantee a place at Sandhurst is pass the AOSB and all the interviews. The majority who are accepted will have a degree.

You will not stand out as everybody else will be doing the same.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
