Ok folks listen up an you will hear some advice from Uncle Doug( that's me). Thanksgiving is a family holiday and as your Uncle it is the perfect time to pass on knowledge that my father passed on to me and to my children: When faced with two or more good choices, NEVER NEVER NEVER limit yourself to just one! TAKE THEM ALL.
The only correct answer is both. And please don't stop there! At our family thanksgiving (which is held at my house), we have pecan pie, pumkin pie, sweet potato pie, raisin pie, apple pie, cherry pie, and sometimes... rhubarb-strawberry pie.
If you have never had rhubarb-strawberry pie, you have a great treat ahead of you. Every year I get a plate and cut a small piece of each pie. It has been the best part of the day for twenty five years (except for 1993 when Dallas lost to Miami in the snow because that IDIOT Leon Lett tried to recover a blocked kick)
.Pumpkin pie. Not only does it taste better and go great with fresh whipped cream, but the pumpkin really is the quintessential fall gourd. The sweet potato is a delightful summer treat, fall treat, and winter and spring treat. It has all four seasons, so why should it get the spotlight on Thanksgiving too?
Give the pumpkin its due chance. Power to the pumpkins!
.How about trying both together. SWEET POTATO PUMPKIN PIE ------------------------------------------- 1 15 oz. Can Libby’s pumpkin pie filling 1 15 oz.
Can candied yams(sweet potatoes) 1/2 cup light brown sugar 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup coconut milk 2 tablespoon melted butter 2 large eggs 1 refrigerated pie crust 3 tablespoon Myer's Rum Preheat oven to 350°F. In the bowl of a food processor, combine pumpkin pie filling, candied yams (undrained), sugar, spice, salt, coconut milk, butter and eggs and process until smooth. Fill a 10-inch pie crust with the mixture.
Bake for 1 1/2 hours. Remove from the oven and set aside for at least 20 minutes before serving. Better when chilled.
The best pie is Pecan Pumpkin Pie: Ingredients: 3 eggs, 1 cup solid pack pumpkin, 1/3 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, 2/3 cup corn syrup, ½ cup sugar, 3 tablespoons melted butter, ½ teaspoon vanilla, 1 cup pecan halves, 1 unbaked 9-inch pastry shell. Method: Stir together 1 slightly beaten egg, pumpkin, 1/3 cup sugar, and pie spice. Spread over bottom of pie shell.
Combine 2 beaten eggs, corn syrup, ½ cup sugar, butter and vanilla. Stir in nuts. Spoon over pumpkin mixture.
Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 50 minutes or until filling is set.
I like both of them, but in my house my Mom makes the sweet potato pie, and we buy the Pumpkin from the store, so I gotta go with sweet potato.
.I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
