Best Tax Software - TurboTax or TaxCut?

6 of one; half dozen of the other... I've used Turbotax for around a decade. My father has used TaxCut for about the same period. Both of us are quite content with the software we use.

I use Quicken for online banking. TurboTax and Quicken are both made by Intuit, making data integration easier. CNET always has well written reviews.

I have used both. I consider them equivalent. For ease of use, I would go with TurboTax.

Their user interface is usually one step ahead of TaxCut. I use TaxCut because its price is usually lower than TurboTax. I have been doing my own taxes for so long, that I do not need the program to hold my hand.

Both allow you to access the forms directly instead of being walked throught their script. Their scripts can be very helpful and save a lot of time. I hope this helps.

Use turbotax this year I used turbotax this year and purchased the deluxe version since I had some investment income. I ran into a little problem with the capital lose carry forward. Turbotax wasn't very good at explaining how to fill this out and the examples didn't help me at all.

I filled it out the way I thought it should be and submitted. I got my return and hope this doesn't come back to bite me. I read in the question and answer section that others were having problems with this too.

I did get my refund quickly using e-file though.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
