1 The cleaning lady uses a solution of white vinegar. Once in awahile Murphy Oil Soap but she says it will darken the wood if used too often. On our stairs, hubby sanded and put a coat of a strong polyurethane varnish.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
