Book or series recommendations? (Fiction, Fantasy, Sci Fi)?

(Fiction, Fantasy, Sci Fi) I just finished the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and I enjoyed it. I also like Harry Potter, Eragon, Narnia, Redwall, Golden Compass, Hunger Games, etc. Some other authors I like are Orson Scott Card, Dan Brown, Garth Nix, Scott Westerfeld. I am looking for some new reads and I thought I turn to Askville for advice.

What books or series do you all recommend for me based on my preferences? Thanks,NotLogical Asked by NotLogical 21 months ago Similar questions: Book series recommendations Fiction Fantasy Sci Fi Arts > Books.

He wrote two excellent storylines; one with two 5 book sets, plus follow-ups, and one with two trilogies. He also wrote a few other things, but those two (The Belgariad/The Mallorean; and The Elenium/The Tamuli) are the pinnacle of his work. There is also a new author, Brian Sanderson, who I have enjoyed, and if you missed Terry Brooks, and Anne McCaffrey, you should look into those, as well.

TheLightWorks's Recommendations The Belgariad, Vol. 2 (Books 4 & 5): Castle of Wizardry, Enchanters' End Game Amazon List Price: $18.00 Used from: $5.94 Average Customer Rating: 4.5 out of 5 (based on 48 reviews) The Belgariad, Vol.1 (Books 1-3): Pawn of Prophecy, Queen of Sorcery, Magician's Gambit Amazon List Price: $17.95 Used from: $5.66 Average Customer Rating: 4.5 out of 5 (based on 166 reviews) The originals have been republished in two convenient volumes. I have read these books more times than most of the rest of my sci-fi/fantasy collection.

Recommendations :) Well I enjoyed some of the series that you stated above. I would recommend these series. They are still in progress but so far they are all good.1.

The Bloody Jack Series by C.S. Lewis 2. The Nightlife Series by Rob Thurman 3. The Blue Bloods Series by Melissa De La Cruz .

Here are some Keep your eyes peeled for Mockingjay, coming out in September. Are you excited or what?! Here are some books you can read while you wait for that one to come out.

Have you tried the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher? The first one is Storm Front. It's a series that is about a wizard who is called by his local police to solve crimes that have a supernatural flair. He also does his own private eye/wizard type work.

You may also like Neal Shusterman. He has a lot of gritty YA novels and if you liked Peeps by Scott Westerfeld you might like Unwind by Shusterman. It's about a time in the future when abortion has been made illegal, but unwinding teenagers has taken it's place.

When you are unwound, you are basically a full body organ donor. The story begins with a teenager who has discovered his parents have put in the order and he is running away from home. Another Shusterman book that's insteresting is Everlost.

It's about these kids who die in a car accident and end up in this really strange afterlife. It's hard to describe. The kids are only allowed to touch or walk on things that have died or someone has died there in the past. If they walk on land where no one has died, they sink down into the earth and can get trapped in the center. It's this really hard to describe adventure novel.

Another good one I read was called The Forest of Hands and Teeth. It's a book about the future and zombies have taken over the whole world except for a very tiny village. As far as anyone knows, there is no world outside the forest. The village is ruled by nuns who must be obeyed, or else they kick you out to stand your chances against the zombies.

But one day, one girl witnesses a stranger coming into town. If you've already read these, let me know, I can give you more. These are all I have off the top of my head.

3 by the way, I haven't been on Askville in a little while. What happened to the old question asking format? That ^^^ wouldn't have happened with the old format.

I believe it could be a series of books, that I think would be considered Science Fiction. " "I'm looking for a Fantasy or Sci-Fi book that will completely pull me in from start to finish. Any suggestions?

" "Looking for a book. Sci-Fi/Fantasy - may have Witch in the Title (or a derivative spelling i.e. W'itch).

"where's the best place to get the black trillium series in h/c? (it's a sci-fi fantasy series I can't find anywhere)" "What should the Askville Book Club read first in the sci-fi/fantasy genre?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
