Brand new HP laptop without any Internet Browser installed?

My friend just bought a Hewlett Packard Laptop and she says there's no Internet Browser installed on it. Is that possible? And how so?

I don't think that's possible but.... if it did happen for whatever reason, all she needs to do is use a friend's computer, (or the local library's computer) and go to microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getit... (the official site for IE7) and click on download. This will download a "setup IE7" program on the computer, which she can just copy-paste onto a usb and paste the file from usb to her laptop! (its not as bad as it sounds).

Of course, if she wanted Firefox...she would do the same but go to their homepage, and download their setup program and then copy-paste. That said....I still don't think its possible for her laptop to have no browser. She should do a search through her computer before she tries to attain it by the measures I mentioned above.

Tell her to click on her start menu, then click on search. Then choose the option of "all files and folders" and looking in "C:" and then tell her to type "Internet Explorer"...if nothing comes up, she can also try "Firefox". If its a brand new laptop...then it has Vista on it.

I wonder if that has something to do with it? If so, Vista might have its own browser which she just hasn't found yet! Hope this helped.

I don't believe her If the computer has Windows installed, Internet Explorer is there, as it's part of Windows. My guess is that she is a new user and possibly confused on how the system is set up. If, for some remote reason, the software is incomplete, she should return the computer to where she sold it... (but I still don't believe it....) .

Go to microsoft. Com and download IE7. How do they access the internet?

And HP supports software for 90 days. I work for them and know they will help .

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
