Yes, more than likely... You will need to make sure that you have Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows 2000, Windows ME, or Windows XP on the machines that are to receive the wireless adapters. For the laptop you can get a PCMCIA card (also known as a PC card, not PCM card) or you can get a USB adapter. I would suggest the latter because it is easier to attach an extension cable (often provided with the stick-type of USB wireless adapters) and move the adapter to a location that provides better reception.
If you want specific hardware recommendations for your home, I would be glad to give you what advice I can by private message. Generally speaking, though, 802.11b is good for very short range wireless networking, such as on the same floor of a house and no more than about 50 linear feet between router and wireless computer. 802.11g is good for servicing two levels of a house but not good for more than about 60-75 feet in the real world.802.11n is excellent for servicing an entire home with linear runs up to about 250 feet or so (even farther in many cases).
On another note, once the wireless system is in place, you should make sure to configure wireless encryption, whether it be WEP or WPA of one sort or another. The reason being that, while you may not intend to do anything all that secretive (such as online banking) over your wireless connection, if you left it open someone else could use the service for which you pay. They could cause you to be blamed for spreading worms, viruses, and/or spam.
Further, they could use up your monthly allotment of bandwidth and cause you to incur additional charges in overage fees. Beyond this, those who get into your unsecured system could potentially infect you with spyware, viruses, trojans, or even do other things to cause you problems (such as deleting necessary files out of your operating system). I hope this helps!

No reason it shouldn't work But your best best bet is to stick with one brand/line of router and wireless card, especially if you go beyond 802.11g into the more expensive and less standard pre-n technologies. This will give you your best assurance of compatibility. Depends on the OS.. The only possible issue would be if the OS isn't up to date. Most Windows versions 2000 and later will handle many standard 802.11b/g cards. You need only get the router and the card for the computer.
If you have Windows XP, no worries whatsoever. Sources: my exp .
Yes Most older laptops (4 years old or older) do not have wireless cards built into them. If you have an older laptop, and it does not have a built-in wireless card, you must purchase an external wireless network adapter for use with your computer. You can alsocheck your Network Properties in click on View Available Wireless Networks.
If you see avalible networs you have a network card and can connect to any unsecured network. You can also check your manual for the computer you have or seach online for the model if you do not have the documentation. Sources: mine .
Depends on the Driver Check online to make sure the driver for the wireless modem supports the computer you are using. Typically most laptops that support Windows XP should be fine.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
