Can I access my Desktop Files from Wi-Fi enabled Laptop using Wi-Fi Modem connected to Desktop?

If you are more than about 20 or 30 metres away, WiFi will probably not be usable or even accessible. From the legal viewpoint, it is illegal to access or even try to access any network without the owners permission, even if it is an unencrypted WiFi network. If you go to the supermarket or restaurant and buy something, that will confer implied permission to use their courtesy WiFi during THAT visit.

You cannot go back later and use their network without buying something else. So, at a distance of 1/4 mile from your home to the WiFi source it is not possible, and if it was it would be illegal.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
