Can I still be asked to do jury duty if I have a court case pending for myself?

Yes. A pending court case or a criminal conviction does not exempt you from being a member of the jury pool. During the jury selection process, the Judge and the attorneys will determine whether you are eligible to serve as a juror on that specific case.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
