Edgar Allan Poe once stated, "I became insane with long intervals of horrible sanity. " He also used alcohol and drugs to "self-medicate" his depression, which probably just added another dimension to it. S writing was certainly enhanced by the darkest corners of his mind.
Painters such as Van Gogh suffered from depression and painted some of the most beautiful works that are classically recognized Most of the most creative people I know have bouts of depression. This can be attributed to the fact that they feel emotions intensely and use creative outlets to express them.
I think so.. You look back and most of the peopel who were creative in paintings and writting even science were all a little nuts =-P.
I wonder if there's ever been a study on creativity and how it relates to stress. Did we just invent a new idea? Probably not but if it ever comes up I'd be glad to take the credit!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
