If you've only ever smoked marijuana once, the only thing you've really got to worry about if getting a surprise drug test and it still being in your system. After like a couple weeks, you'll be clear for plss tests, but if they do a hair test they could still find traces of it MONTHS later. The only possible thing you'd need to worry about health wise would be the possibility of getting some sort of psychosis, but honestly, don't worry about it.
Some studies show a "link" between weed and psychosis, but only in people who have a previous disposition to it and a strong family history of it. They said that it may "speed up the process". So, if no one in your family has schizophrenia, you've got no worries - even at that, I found the studies very sketchy, and I'm not at all convinced that it'll give you psychosis - however, if you've got a family history of it you may want to do some research on that aspect of it and make up your own mind (look at both sides, though).
In all of history, there has never been one death ever recorded due to marijuana alone. It is physically impossible to OD on it. However, 500,000 americans die because of alcohol and tobacco combined every year.
Marijuana isn't nearly as dangerous as your teachers or the DARE program told you it was. Believe it or not, it's actually a softer drug than alcohol. Long term heavy use can be bad for you, though.
But then again, too much of anything is bad for you. As long as you use it in moderation and responsibly, and don't abuse it, (and don't get caught), you're fine. Pretty much, the laws attached to marijuana are more harmful than the plant itself (prohibition opens a door of opportunity to the black market, therefore increasing gang and violent crimes and increasing drug usage, less addicts seeking help with nowhere to go, drug dealers sell to children and push them to buy harder drugs (dealers don't care about age - they just want money.
If weed had the same laws applied to it as alcohol, legal sellers wouldn't risk their jobs and rep by selling to minors - and because people would rather buy from safe reliable sources than sketchy crooks, drug dealers and cartels would be driven out of business) No matter what people tell you, it can be addicting, but NOT nearly as addicting as other drugs (heroin, meth, alcohol, tobacco, etc) - but anything can be addicting, really - from fast food to gambling to gaming, shopping and even plastic surgery. Marijuana doesn't kill braincells, cause cancer or make you lazy or any of the bs. The study that said it kills braincells was flawed and biased and was done in the 70s, and a more recent study suggest that it might actually stimulate the growth of new braincells.
It has NEVER been proven to cause cancer, but it HAS been shown to have anti-cancer properties and help starve off cancer cells and shrink tumour size. Some people go as far to say it CURES cancer, however I'm skeptical. It wouldn't surprise me if they one day found a cure for cancer and cannabis was involved, but I believe it should be looked into a little more.
It hasn't been shown to increase chances of cancer in long term heavy users, and it has been shown that people who use cannabis are also less likely to develop some kinds of cancers (including prostate, neck, brain, etc) Marijuana isn't that bad of a drug - especially if it's only occasional usage - but smoking it too much and in excess isn't at all good for you. Moderation and responsibility are key.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
