Can someone tell me why my cat is peeing on the rugs and the bed First of all I arranged for a vet appt for this week to rule out an urinary tract infection I think it might be territory dispute or dominance issue. I have moved her litterbox and her food into my room where I can keep an eye on her and I did change her litter to another brand until I could get her regular brand and when I did I switched back and I even got her a window seat so she can chatter at the birds. Once an animal (and your cat is an animal, not a friend) has peed on a territory, it is marked as owned by that animal. The cat is, therefore, leaving successive markers on its own territory. If you wish to, you may leave your urine-scented marker on your territory.

The cat should acknowledge your claim by marking a spot next to yours, tho some cats will try to mark on top of the competing marker to claim more territory for its own. Or, you could have the thing fixed and all the fabric washed with baking soda to neutralize the odor, or you could keep the thing outside, or you could get a spray bottle of water and spray the cat with water EVERY time it even looks like it wants to mark something. Remember, cats are animals, not friends.

Yeah, cats can be a pain once they start doing that. A urinary tract infection could definitely be causing it. Other things could be anything new, such as new pet, new kid,new roomate/boyfriend, she could just want to let you all know what's hers.Do your rugs have rubber bottoms?

Cats love to pee on them for some reason. Some cats are particular about their litter, clean everyday, same brand, same spot. I would keep her out of the place she's done it if possible and hopefully she'll get back to normal.

I've read that you need to move it something like one foot a day so they can adjust. My cats have never cared, but if it's a dominance issue, she may be upset.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
