Good question. You can indeed. You have to roast them in their skins and peel them whilst still piping hot, by holding one in a teatowl and working over it with a paring knife.
They then need to be passed and proccessed for mash asap as potato starch becomes solid as it cools. The adv of doing this is that it eliminates the potential for "gluggyness" in the mash. Do it!
