Kramer! Yes, canning your own home grown vegetables and fruits, even meat, can save you money in many ways. If you've grown your home produce without insecticides or pesticides, then you canned food is the second best food you can eat after eating it fresh.
Canning preserves many vitamins and most minerals, so in the long run you even save on your health bill. Having a look round Google, I found many websites that advise on canning and also have printable coupons for canning supplies: 5dollardinners.com/2010/09/11-ball-canni... centremedicsantramon.com/Ao1AjL/ frugallivingnw.com/store-deals/safeway/p... wesaveandusave.blogspot.com/2010/09/runn... I also enjoy canning all the surplus of fruit and vegetables from the summer, but it seems I'm not very good with "labelling" the cans or the labels got wet and came off. Well, it would be nice to know whether it's beans or peaches inside the tin, wouldn't it?
I really must make a greater effort on labelling! Wishing you good luck with your canning this year!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
