You were truly saved at 15, when in your heart you wanted the salvation of Jesus Christ and righteousness. You have not been unsaved since. You do not become unsaved by your failures, they're covered in the blood of Jesus.
Cuss words are just words, but they are a reflection of your heart. Ask God to help keep your heart from becoming angry. Sex before marriage has consequences and can cause emotional scars, but God forgives and heals.
Alcohol is just a drink; when it becomes an addiction that you want more than your relationship with God it becomes a stronghold, and there by sin. The very fact that you long for purity and righteousness shows the nature of your heart. God is not as legalistic as we make Him out to be.
These things you fear "messing up" and doing should be worked on, but they should be worked on because they will bring you harm and not the best of what God has for you...NOT because they cost you salvation. You truly are saved, do not be deceived by what the devil would have you believe: that you are not good enough. Jesus made you good enough when He died for you.
Your works do not determine your salvation. Every christian life is simply living under grace, failing, recommitting, and striving every day to please the God who would offer us such mercy. Also, in response to one of your answers, yes, there is a Hell.
And yes, people can go there. While it might not sound good in your personal logic, it is in the Bible, so that's the best place to go for answers about it. It wasn't created for us, but it is in essence, separation from God.
We were separated from God when man originally introduced sin into the world. We were no longer pure enough to enter the Kingdom of God, leaving only Hell to go to upon death. However, our merciful God sent His son as the pure sacrifice blood offering, that if only we accepted, we could have access to God's kingdom.
Does God technically "send" people to Hell? No, but it is the only place to go if you have not accepted Jesus, the only way to Heaven.
Being a Christian" doesn't mean we will never make mistakes or wander from life's path. We ALL make mistakes and we all have areas where we struggle. That is just a normal consequence of being human.
So, I would encourage you not to "beat yourself up" over your past mistakes. Confess those to things God, and simply move forward. Psalm 103:12 - "as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."
When you trust in Christ your sin has been covered by His grace. God only sees the perfection of Christ...not our imperfection. Everything in life that ensues is about learning and growing (i.e.
- "sanctification"). There is no sin so great that God cannot forgive it. The only sin that will not be forgiven is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit (rejection of faith in Jesus Christ).
God's grace (undeserved love) is not nullified by our actions. Have you committed the Unforgivable sin? No.
Just the simple fact that you show concern for your life's direction & relationship with God demonstrates that the Holy Spirit is still working within you....trying to draw you a closer relationship with Christ. I understand how it is sometimes difficult to "forgive ourselves". We all have times where our faith is not as strong as we'd like it to be and struggle with various doubts or other issues.
But God's grace isn't conditional or based upon our feelings. When we are living according to God's plan, we might be tempted to feel better about ourselves, but in reality we are still no more deserving of His grace than we were before. So, my advice; simply accept God's forgiveness through faith in Christ.
He already suffered to pay the price our sins deserve...trust in Him and thank Him for His undeserved love...
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
