You may be lucky when dropped, the disk may have damage the boot sector which is near where the laser head is parked. So hoping the laser is ok, perhaps there is a scratch on the boot sector. If so you may be lucky.
Buy a new hdd, format it and load windows on it after its running, shut down and install the damage hdd, set the jumpers to slave, and plug it in to the secondary plug on the ribbon. Normally the new hdd will be set to master is on the primary plug on the prinmary ribbon, slave hdd on the secondary plug on the primary ribbon, and the DVD Rom on the secondary ribbon. Boot up and see if windows on your new hdd can see the old hdd.
Copy your files over. You will lose your programs. You cannot copy programs, you have to install them.
In XP right click My Computer icon >manage >storage >disk management. In the rHS you may see unallocated space, right click on it >assign it a drive letter like K. Note don't let windows format it or you will wipe it.
Learn how to image the hdd, have two partitions, image the C drive onto the D partition and keep your personal files on D drive. C drive only needs to 30 to 40 gig.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
