I have a Western Digital My passport essential SE, 1tb that I want to connect to my Direct Tv-dvr to expand the drive. Mb I bought an estata cable and it won't fit in back of the external hd. My Directtv box is HR24-500.

They are saying that I need to buy the dvr expander my book av, which is alot of $$. Couldn't I just buy a mini-usb cable w/estata on the other end and it work? I thought I read somewhere that you can do this & now I'm having problems.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
