Conundrumland unfair?

At the Mahalo tutorial on Wednesday I brought up this issue. I was concerned with the obvious abuse of the voting system already. I has been the conclusion of those in charge that the voting will remain anonymous.

This practice of anonymous voting is thought by those in charge to be encouraging new users and voters to participate in the voting process. It is also believed by those in charge that if the voting process in ConundrumLand was to be changed to the "name attached" voting system of Mahalo Answers that voting in ConundrumLand would slow down or cease. This is the logic behind the anonymous voting.

I was (we were) told that the system in place would be the system for now and in the future. ~edit~ Here is a thread discussing this same issue from a short time ago in ConundrumLand, @samid had asked this question. mahalo.com/answers/belief-and-thought/do... Do you think making the helpful/unhelpful votes anonymous is helping or hurting?

In my opinion this will lower the value of the votes because without the names of the voters attached there is no accountability but it is the system we will be using.

To me, anonymous voting on Conunundrumland is inconsequential. There are no Mahalo Dollars to be won and no statistics to be proud of. If someone marks an answer unhelpful, they're not impacting me in the same way that they're impacting me on Mahalo.

Because there are no awards to be won, I could really care less who votes my answers down. I answer questions there to help people. A questioner isn't going to overlook a great answer because it's received a couple of anonymous not helpful votes.

I bet they'll just ignore them and move on.

I'm not sure about its fairness, but I've had a heck of a time submitting answers. I take them off of Mahalo answers, note that they're via Conundrumland and submit. 6 tries on one yesterday (Robbrown's Comfort Food Question) and never did appear in the list of answers.

Are the answers screened? Very frustrating.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
