Coolant spurts out of radiator with cap off if I rev hard?

Virtually impossible to have a bad water pump w/o it leaking externally. In order for the pump to grind, it's shaft bushings/bearings would have to be bad. That would cause the shaft to wobble and it would leak.

Plus the belt driving it would slap and you'd see the pump pulley wobbling too. So if that's not happening, pumps prolly fine. I'd go to an auto parts store and buy a chem test kit to test the coolant for exhaust gasses.

Even if you don't have water in the oil. Visually, it's kinda hard to tell if gasses are entering the coolant system. If it tests positive, prolly have a head or **intake gasket issue.

FYI so you know, depending on how they fail, head gaskets can be bad w/o cross contamination of fluids. Or just leak to coolant, or oil, or to the atmosphere. Also, not totally familiar w/this engine, but some have coolant passages in the intake as well.

So.... ------------- couldn't tell ya what the grinding noise is. But obviously it's not good. Therefore it shoudn't be driven till the issue is solved.

Me thinks the engine is toast though. Sorry. Displacing coolant is never good.

Grinding noise is BAD stop driving the car until you get it fixed you are going to blow up the engine so park it and/or fix it. If you do not know what it is send it to a mechanic before you have to put an engine in it anyway.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
