Could a major society operate without a government at all...just people doing whatever they wanted?

No. That's the whole point of delegating power -- let lower level officials worrying about the small details while the president worries about the big things. Obama has to manage the War on Terror, meet with other world leaders, and manage lots of other things much more important than confirming the tax exempt status of quasi-political groups.

We don't have a govt.... We have a business. You could make the exact same statement for every president we've had in the past 40 years... Lol No president has ever known what all the govt agencies are up to. Its not their responsibility.

For instance... Think of a ceo or cfo.... Do you think they know what every worker in the company is doing? Lol.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
