Could windows 8 be installed on a windows 7 laptop?

You can but it's actually kind of difficult plus you would have to by a copy of Windows 7. It's actually possible to make Windows 8 work just like 7 for free. You'll first want to swap the default apps for desktop programs.

Go to the start screen and type "default programs" (there's no search box yet, just start typing and the search box will pop up automatically) without the quotes then press Enter or click on Default Programs when it appears in the search results. The Default Programs window will open, click Set your default programs and a list of programs installed on your PC will load. Click on Windows Media Player to highlight it.

Then click the Set this program as default button. Do the same for Windows Photo Viewer and your favorite PDF reader. If you use Adobe Reader then you can download it from this link below.

You have two better Options: 1) Upgrade to Windows 8.1 through the Windows App Store. It fixes a lot of 8.0's problems, and it's free. 2) Stick with W 8.0, but get the free Classic Shell, it makes 8.0 look and feel like Windows 7, from: TIP: If you already have Windows 7, you have have a 1 in 10 chance that you can use it legally.

OEM versions and Upgrade DVDs will not work, period.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
