Do Christians REALLY believe that the rape victim chooses to be raped?

It's ridiculous. Nobody would ever tell a man he was 'asking for it' getting mugged because he had on a nice watch. It's victim-blaming, victim-shaming.

All coming from the mentality that any form of sexuality -wanted or not -is something men should be proud of and women should be ashamed of. In the end, it's kind of insulting to men as well as women -it's saying that men are animals who can't be expected to control themselves. It's bs.

And stats show that stranger-rape is only a tiny tiny fraction -it's usually someone known to the victim. It's not about what they're wearing. Besides, rape is not about sex, it's about power and violence.

If the reason was really just that the guy was that desperate -um, prostitutes have always existed everywhere and always will... Nobody ever blames the victims of other crimes. Nobody would blame a child for getting raped. Victim-blaming comes down to ignorance and misogyny -although, as I said before, the logic of it actually insults men as well.

Women blame the victim because it gives them a false sense of security. If you just blame rape on a victim's clothing, then all you have to do to not get raped is not dress provocatively. If you blame rape on the fact that the victim was drunk, then all you have to do to not get raped is not get drunk.

The men who blame women for rape, see women as objects. Based on the questions on here that compare rape to getting your car broken into because you left valuables out, or getting your house broken into because you left the doors unlocked, obviously don't see the difference between locking up your material possessions to keep them safe, and keeping your own body safe. Men have the logic that leaving your car unlocked and having it stolen, is the same as walking around in revealing clothing or at night and getting raped.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
