Bon jour from Montréal! The UK does not offer an equivalent to the USA's GED. That series of exams was designed after WW2 to help returning American veterans who had dropped out of high school to enlist as soldiers.
Ironically, it is no longer accepted by the American military as a high school graduation equivalent without a minimum of 6 credits from a certified college/university. (I assume you know what Americans identify as colleges and universities are not like UKers know.) Americans here who suggest one's parents may initiate a diploma are incorrect, as this is not allowed in the UK. You can take the GCSE exams now as an external candidate to receive a diploma if you are over 16.
These are offered all over the UK at different times. Not all students pass all the exams, especially those without proper preparation. (Please note that is only my perception.) Right now, you can get some kind of job, go to a college and take a vocational course or take A levels (which have to be done in a subject passed in GCSE) and are a two-year course, which if passed, will enable you entry into a university.
Thousands of UK trade schools offer all kinds of post-secondary training for skilled trades. Many will accept non-accredited students as long as one can pay their tuition and fees. Others will require the GCSE with passing marks in particular or all subjects.
I hope that all makes sense!? Good luck! / Bonne chance!
You do not need a diploma to get a job. What job do you want to do? You can be a volunteer, intern, apprentice to gain some insights into many jobs.
You can take exams (GCSE and A levels) as an external candidate at a local school or college. Or you can study at a local college if they do a course in which you are interested.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
