Help! By kevinthomson - 1/9/08 1:33 PMOk, so i'm running to this problem I can't seem to figure out. I just purchased a 1080p 52" Samsung LCD.

The LN-T5265F. Hopefully it's not the TV. And I'm running the new Motorola HD box from Comcast.

The DCH3200. Now it has an HDMI output that I'm running directly into the TV. I also decided to run component cables as well.To see if there was a different.

And boy was I surprised. The HDMI came up fuzzy and pixelated. While the Component (still a little grainy and pixelated) was much much better.

I'm annoyed that I'm seeing pixelation at all. Is this normal? And I was hoping that the HDMI would get rid of this.

But instead it made matters worse. So, any suggestions? ReplyPermalinkReport offensive postPost 2 of 25funny how that happensby jostenmeat - 1/9/08 1:40 PM In reply to: HDMI looks worse than Component on Comcast HD Box.

Help! By kevinthomsonmy situation is the reverse, and I am sure we would like to change places! Just use the component connection?

I mean, honestly, what do you lose? I can only see a positive gain for you as that means more hdmi slots available for bluray, hd-dvd, or upscaling dvd players, all of which require hdmi connections for optimal playback. This is not true for set top boxes.

Just use the component connection, and consider yourself lucky (if you can). ReplyPermalinkReport offensive postPost 3 of 25Yeah, maybe that's best....by kevinthomson - 1/9/08 1:46 PM In reply to: funny how that happens by jostenmeatMy only issue is on the HD channels look pretty good with the component. But there are some smaller issues I was hoping the HDMI cable would fix.

For example, watching ESPN HD, the ticker at the bottom of the screen looks blurry as it goes by. When it stops it looks fantastic. But when it scrolls it looks a bit blurry.

Is that a TV issue? I hope I didn't buy a bad TV.It got good reviews. Argh.

By exzavior2k6 - 1/9/08 6:50 PM In reply to: Yeah, maybe that's best.... by kevinthomsonMake sure your box is set up for 1080I, to do this turn the box off then hit the menu button on the remote. It will bring you to the user settings screen.

The hdmi/ypbpr output should say 1080I, also make sure your 4:3 override is set to 480p. If your using your hdmi output then go to the additional hdmi settings. Make sure the color space is set to ycc 4:4:4.

I hope that helps. The bar along the bottom shouldn't be blurry. If it is that usually has to do with the response rate of the tv.

Another thing to check is make sure your tv is not in stretch mode that will distort your picture. Your not going to notice much difference between hdmi and component on the cable box. ReplyPermalinkReport offensive postPost 5 of 25It could be your tv.

Even when we were playing Halo 3 with HDMI it still did that with most of the icons. ReplyPermalinkReport offensive postPost 6 of 25I know exactly what you mean.

By lilsim89 - 1/10/08 1:06 AM In reply to: HDMI looks worse than Component on Comcast HD Box. Help! By kevinthomsonI have Verizon FIOS T.V. and a Samsung DLP HDTV.

The combination is great, picture and sound, but component sometimes can look noticeably better than HDMI (Sound is ALWAYS best in HDMI.)I believe that HDMI being superior actually makes it worse in our cases! The graininess in the picture (something like static) is smoothed out from the inconsistency of the component cable, making it appear clearer. The way it sounds for you, though, is much worse than it should be.

You should have your service provider send a technician to view the TV and wiring to inform you whether or not there is a problem with the signal or receiver. HDMI is much more convenient and superior than component, and you shouldn't be subjected to using inferior components. Hope this helps, Sources: http://forums.cnet.com/5208-7596_102-0.html?threadID=279248 .

Comcast uses different boxes in different areas, you need to be more specific. I just purchased a Panasonic Th-50PX60U last week and just upgraded my cable box to the Dual DVR. It has a HDMI cable output and I bought a cheep cable too hook it up and try out last night. It is hooked up with component cables right now and has a great picture.

I tried the HDMI cable last night and my picture quality actually went down. It was grainy and very pixeled. Would this be caused by the cheep cable or form the cable box it self?

Do you recommend me calling the cable company or getting a higher quality cable? Thanks for the looks. Comcast uses different boxes in different areas, you need to be more specific.

It's like saying "I just got a car and it's having problems. " What is the make and model? If you have the Motorola STB, turn off the box, press menu, and set output to 720p.

Enable 4:3 override set to 480i. Note the picture settings are not necessarily the same for the HDMI input; i.e. The best settings for component won't look best with HDMI and the best settings for HDMI won't look best with component.

There is no quality difference between different HDMI cables at shorter lengths. It's a digital transmission. Better built cables can support longer lengths (i.e.

50 feet), that is the only difference. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=822298HDMI looks worse than Component on Comcast HD Box. Help!

How do I hook my Magnavox hdd&dvd player/recorder to comcast hd box and tv.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
