Do liberals ACTUALLY believe that the Democrats are going to adopt their pacifist demands if elected?

You have many good (and bad) answers. Several people said exactly what I would have said. But, I did want to summarize and support those who I think are right.

Firstly, how could Republicans hate the middle class when in fact most of them are middle class? People need to take a long look at who makes up the party. I'm middle class and we do not make over 250K a year in this house and I think we have gotten disregarded for a very long time.

Due to the fact that the vast majority of American citizens are middle class we are paying for those entitlements. I do not want to see people starving on the streets and I do not think that will happen. Why is this?

I think most people who lose unemployment benefits will actually find work that they have felt they were "too good for" in the past. I know a guy who got laid off 2 years ago, he has a college degree and was making money at a financial services firm. He has discovered by sharing an apartment with about 5 other mid-late 20s people that they can get by just fine on unemployment benefits.

He can sit around and collect and "party" with them all. A few are college students and a few have part time jobs, and they are all like "one happy family" his unemployment allows him to keep a car, pay his share of the rent and contribute towards food. He seems to manage to afford a Blackberry that is web enabled and they split costs of cable TV and whatnot.

From what I hear, this guy isn't even looking for a job anymore and he is quite content. If he loses unemployment, I applaud it as it will force him to grow up and find a real job, even if it's working behind the counter at Dunkin Donuts or cleaning houses. I'm tired of seeing abuses like this.

It's abuse when someone finds unemployment "comfortable" and no longer bothers to look for a job. I think of it as stealing. He's "too good" to settle so he doesn't bother.

Excuse me? You and I are paying for him to sit around, get high with his friends, and watch TV and play video games. He is the boyfriend of one of my friend's daughters, she is in college and lives with him.

At any rate, to get back to your question (sorry I got off but it's all part of the same question to me) I do think that Democrats view all corporations as evil thieves and that we are helpless victims. They do not think that having corporations that make profits is a good thing. They are ready to give government regulation to them all to control this and take control, sadly.

When people and in particular entrepreneurs who are driven to succeed get the rewards taken from them, they will no longer bother to try to be a success. Democrats can't and won't see that, I think. Many of them come from unions and academia where they have no control of their wages based on merit, they don't get the mindset of corporate people and those who are driven by financial rewards.

Unfortunately, I think our president is the same mindset. He cannot or will not understand. Our economy NEEDS movers and shakers who are driven by profits in order to move this economy forward.

The corporations that are successful will grown and provide jobs, it's as simple as that.

The left sure does act brainwashed. The successful don't get rich on the poor, the poor don't have money. History shows it is the democrats who keep the poor poor.

In fact this administration seem to want everyone poor. The conservatives want everyone to prosper but you can't prosper unless you work. Companies can't hire if the government takes all their money for taxes.

The less poor in this country the more prosperous everyone is and wages go up and not down. Many on the left don't understand how businesses make money nor the hours the business people put into the job.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
