Oh, yes... and it's been this way as long as I've been here... If I can find the answer in a google search by keyword, I don't know why the person who poses the question can't! For a while, I was answering such questions, but no more. If it doesn't give me something to sink my teeth into, I don't do it.
Or if it won't actively help someone understand something, I won't do it. At this time of year, too, we get more and more product oriented questions--and it's hard to tell whether the person asking thinks they're asking on Askville and knows what Askville is--or whether they think they're addressing Amazon Customer Service. I hope they slow down after Christmas!

Laziness it is Yes thats true but the creators of this site know this. They made this site, and yahoo made answers, so everything can be found easily in one place. No need to search a bunch of websites to find a simple answer, and people can go ahead and ask so they can just get the answer fast.
Laziness created this site but who really cares? If it annoys people then those people don't need to be visitng here.
Some can be.. I think some can easily be done through a search engine but I think people who ask some questions here in askville want first hand knowledge from other users or maybe they are not very good at using search engines and new the internet. Sources: My opinion .
I've wondered about that... and decided it may be a roundabout way of sharing a factoid they find interesting...or they have a really really bad search engine/search technique! Sources: Personal opinion .
Yup. Ignorance, laziness, and perhaps a desire for points...
