Do you like gold better, or silver? Which looks better on you?

I'm a silver girl too! And when I got my colour analysis done they also agreed I looked better wearing silver. It matches my skin tone better than gold ( yellow or cream of any description makes me look 'off' ) so I only ever wear silver if I wear any jewellery at all.

And I actually like the tarnished effect you get with silver, it makes even new jewellery look antique and I like antique necklaces and things....

.

Gold often makes you look old while silver looks younger. Silver tarnishes easily when I wear it though, so I prefer to wear white gold if I wear an expensive jewelry. I do work with sterling silver to make jewelries, but they don't tarnish when I touch them with my fingers, so I think silver only tarnishes if it reacts with your sweat.

Sterling silver that is made by reputable vendors last longer than sterling silver from unreputable vendors, which is why I am glad I found a good supplier for my craft project. Now, a lot of people like to use oxidized sterling silver, sterling silver which is processed with patina to get dark antique colors. Below are the earrings I just made a few days ago.

I used to love only gold jewelry. The engagement ring my husband gave me over 12 years ago was a bright and shiny 18 karat gold. My wedding band was a matching golden ring, as well.

I did like silver jewelry at the time, but it just was not as much in style when I was younger and naturally I did not won any, since my husband insisted (or so it seemed) to buy me only matching items that went nicely with my wedding band. Three years after our wedding, my left ring finger started reacting strangely to my golden wedding band. I began developing excruciatingly painful, bubbly rashes around both my ring fingers (since I started switching the ring from the finger on the left hand to that one the right).

Soon, the rash spread to nearby fingers as well and I was having a very hard time to keep the ring on and even to close my hand into a fist. I went to the dermatologist and had several allergic tests performed to find out if I was allergic to that specific type of gold. No luck.

The tests were inconclusive and according to the dermatologist, no such allergy existed. He also ran tests on other metals that might be included in the ring, but again, no success. I could no longer wear my ring and soon started looking into alternatives.

Two years later, my husband sent me (he was deployed at the time) an anniversary band for Christmas made of Platinum. It was a beautiful diamond-studded band that I was only too anxious to wear. It looked nothing like the yellow gold wedding band I had long put away in my jewelry box.

I liked the silvery look and I was able to wear it for almost 4 months before my rash returned, to my dismay. Then, a few months later, we moved and visited a close friend of ours, who had been working at a Jewelry Gallery that specialized in diamonds. She quickly talked my husband into trying out a white gold band with my birthstone and two diamonds at each side.My husband who felt almost guilty of not being able to find a suitable band for me, agreed and we tried a small ring that was more cost efficient, in case it did not work out again (well it was still about $500, but it was cheaper than the $5000 diamond band that my friend tried to sell us at first, with the sales pitch that it was time to upgrade our wedding bands).

I am still wearing my white gold ring and it has worked out for the past 5 years. I have been wearing it longer than my original wedding band and so I think that whatever caused my reaction to gold and platinum does not do so for white gold. I love the coloring as well and have switched most of my other jewelry over to a silvery shade that matches the ring.

Of course, if I feel like gold, every now and then, I can always switch over to fashion jewelry, which does not bring about any rashes or skin irritation, oddly enough.

I actually hate the look of gold. Everything I own is silver. It just.. is prettier. My wedding ring:

Well, that's not my actual ring mine has different runes, but it looks like that basically.

I don't like yellow gold. But I do enjoy white gold. Platinum is also beautiful, but too soft for me to wear, I would destroy it.My wedding set is white gold and it does dull a bit over time...but then I get it rhodium dipped, and it's as shiny and bright as platinum.

White gold is simple yellow gold mixed with other metals to make it white. White gold looks so much classier than yellow, cleaner and definitely more sophisticated. I am also a brunette and tend to wear darker colors.

So I think that the white gold stands out and accents my attire better. My vote goes to white gold.

I personally like gold best. Silver used to be my favorite, but gold is now in the lead. I really like the way it looks with diamonds and crystals.

However, I also like the look of gold and silver together, especially on watches. There is something about silver that makes it less controversial. I think maybe it's that you can't necessarily use silver to make a piece tacky.

However, tacky items are made with gold (or painted a gold color) all the time. I guess by wearing gold, you're probably taking more of a risk. That being said, I do still really appreciate silver.

I have a really beautiful antique tea set that is silver. If it was gold, I imagine it would look pretty odd!

I like gold chains if I wore them. I do have a yellow gold with diamonds pinky ring when I am not in work clothes.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
