I really depends on the jewelry piece. If the piece is made properly and looks like quality jewelry then I would definitely go for a hand made piece of jewelry. What I don't like is when the jewelry looks cheap and handmade.
That's a turn off.
I make jewelry as a therapy. Leading a busy life as a community carer I find making jewelry a way to relax in the evenings. I prefer hand made and designed necklaces to those bought from a store.
I search for the quality of bead or stone I have in mind before I start and have always been complemented on my standard of work. Many of my pieces are well admired and result in my being asked to design one similar as a present. My hobby makes me a few pounds in the process.
It depends on the style and quality for me. I love to support people who make their own necklaces, but often they are just starting out and the quality of their work is poor. I'd say, if you want to sell necklaces that are hand-made, you should practice and do market research to ensure the time you put in is equal to the money you make.
I'm a designer in crochet, necklace, bracelet etc. ,I prefer custom made because I want to be unique as always.
I always bought at the store until I started making my own. Now I have a greater respect for those who create! When a person understands the "value" of handmade they are more likely to go that way.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
