My good friend Romare thinks there are no laws that are designed to promote gun safety, like all but five states requiring Permits to carry, and those permits requiring passing a safety class. One of the five states that does NOT require a permit (Vermont) has No 'stand your ground" law OR "Castle Doctrine" they are NOT a 'gun friendly" state, they have no Permit law because they really expect to not have any gun owners!. It being just about the Bluest of all states.
Or rules about how to lock up a gun in your car if you DON'T have such a permit, but are going hunting or to the target range. She thinks you can just buy a gun behind the gas station and start shooting. And you probably can, Behind the same gas station you can buy Crack, or heroine.
And more laws NEVER stop criminals. Besides the twenty some counts of Murder on Adam Lanza's head, there is the fact that he brought Several hand-guns into a Gun Free Zone. It is also illegal to have a gun in your vehicle when in the school parking lot, so the Assault rifle that he left in the car and did NOT use is one more law he ignored that day.
We have proved that many of the current laws have sloppy, shoddy enforcement, but the liberals want MORE laws, not better enforcement. Actually, what we've proved is they REALLY want One Less Law. That one being the Second Amendment.
You just said it would put a dent in violence. Putting a dent in gun violence is a measure of prevention. So by your own logic you should support the proposals now.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
