I don't think Romney will win the Presidency, but for different reasons. You can't accuse Obama of "buy"ing votes when Citizens United saw to it that Republicans can (and very well do) play that game themselves. Throw bias out the window here.
Romney will not win because his party is currently fractured. He cannot even get most of them to rally behind him -- even Republican voters are only willing to vote for him with, "Well, uhm, uh, I guess he's better than Obama?" In order to drum up support AGAINST Obama and most of the Democratic-led policies during this administration, the Republicans birthed the Tea Party out of their most extremist members (who in reality are the minority of Republicans, not to even mention the voting base of America in general) and used their outrage to emotionally charge the public.
I suspect this is going to backfire for Romney -- he is forced to court the Tea Party, because the right-leaning media is still trumpetting that their platform is the one supported by the "majority of America." If he doesn't, he will earn the ire of the media, which will bury him. Meanwhile, the real majority of voters are growing more disastisfied with him as a Republican candidate. I need not mention the bad feelings that are still being felt from the Republican primary.
As a candidate, he isn't charming. He doesn't have the trustworthy face of an old American wardog, but rather, the stiff feeling of an Armani-suit CEO. He doesn't have a booming voice.
When he says something, it's usually rehashed old garble that's been parroted time and time again for the benefit of reporters. And while many conservative voters may automatically vote for him because they think he will do good for the economy, many moderates still don't feel he's offered any solutions yet (and he hasn't -- tax cuts and the like have been tried for the past decade and we all see where we are now; where are the fresh, new ideas rather than the bland promises of "Yeah, I will make jobs! Cuz I will!").
Yes, he could win, but, as most of the other comments say, the chances are about even between Romney and Obama. I noticed that one answer mentioned the 2000 Supreme Court decision. The only thing that the Supreme Court said was, "You can do another recount, but this time it must be a FAIR recount.
You must recount EVERY county, not just Democrat-controlled counties, and you must use the same criteria for every vote, e.g., if a hanging chad counts as a vote in one county, then it must count as a vote in all counties." When the Democrats realized that the Supreme Court required a FAIR recount, they knew they couldn't win, so they decided to not insist upon another recount, and instead turned to the left-leaning mainstream news media to broadcast the misconception that Bush stole the election with the help of the Supreme Court.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
