State anything in one misleading sentence and you can make it look foolish if you try. That does not mean that your statement accurately reflects the facts. Just to take the first three you mention: "16 and 20 million dollars helping students from Indonesia get master’s degrees."
Expanding U.S. aid to the country with the largest Muslim population in the world would seem to make a lot of sense these days, don't you think? http://www.tradeaidmonitor.com/2012/02/i... "$175,587 “to determine if cocaine makes Japanese quail engage in sexually risky behavior”." Ongoing studies to determine the mechanisms of drug use and addiction, so that we can more effectively prevent and treat the problem, would appear to make a lot of sense, too.
http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/scic... "$3 million to researchers at the University of California at Irvine to fund their research on video games such as World of Warcraft" Studies to improve business communication in an increasingly decentralized environment to increase U.S. competitiveness in a global market seems to make a lot of sense to me. http://www.ics.uci.edu/community/news/ar... "And my Personal Favorite! $800,000 in “stimulus funds” to study the impact of a “genital-washing program” on men in South Africa." One of the things upon which liberals cannot fault George W.
Bush was his response to the AIDS epidemic in Africa, which has saved millions of lives. The genitalia-washing program is part of a larger $12-million UCLA study examining how to better encourage Africans to undergo voluntary HIV testing and counseling. Thus the funding both increases U.S. employment and decreases African deaths.
What a bad idea! I could go on through your entire list, but I think that you (or at least intelligent people reading this) will understand the invalidity of your claims.
No, I do not. Add these to the list: Govt waste: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-blog... $3.4 Million of Federal Stimulus Money to Pay for Turtle Tunnel:http://www.wcjb.com/local-news/2009/06/3...
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
