Do you think we'll eventually be able to predict all dangerous to infants before birth?

Wow that is very exciting research. I'm all for anything that would save babies and parents the heartache of losing a baby to something that to this point has been unexplainable. I know when my daughter was born those first ten weeks couldn't go by fast enough.

After the first ten weeks, the chance of SIDS goes way down. There is still the chance through the first year of life; however, from what I understand, the first ten weeks are the most crucial. I hope anything that is mysterious that kills children is figured out.

There are some problems that scientists know about but can't do anything about. The problem with SIDS is that it is so mysterious. I know the numbers of deaths were cut almost in half when parents were told to put babies on their backs. So the two parts of the research do make sense.

I'm sure it will be a while before they really know. Sadly, I think the only way to really investigate this problem is to do autopsies on the babies that die from it, which in and of itself is not a pleasant thought. So the more they can figure out, the sooner scientists can figure it out and save many lives. Thanks for the link.

The word "All" makes this impossible. New viruses or ailments could develop and tests will always have at least a small margin for error. We are moving in the right direction for sure, but I don't believe that we will be able to be able to test for Everything.

End of Days: Predictions and Prophecies About the End of the World. "Many authorities who had loudly proclaimed that the world would definitely end in the year 1000 explained their obvious miscalculation by "realising" they should have added Jesus' life span to their prediction. ^ a be c d e f g h I j k l m n Tom McIver, The End of the World: An Annotated Bibliography.
