I live near Nashville and grew up there...Here are a few suggestions: Centennial Park - More so in the spring, but there are flowers, trees, and the duck pond, not to mention the Parthenon. It's free. There are many parks in Nashville: the Warner Parks have horses and playgrounds, Fannie Mae Dees has the dragon statue, and Two Rivers Mansion is a lovely historic home and all are free and have lovely spots.

Cheekwood Museum & Botanical Gardens - Gardens and also outdoor sculptures...but there is an admission fee. It has fun things for the kids to do, too. Montgomery Bell State Park - It's out toward Dickson, but on these pretty fall days, it's worth the trip.

Another state park is the Bicentennial Mall. It's pretty in a different way, with waterfalls and historic markers, but it also has greenways. If you're thinking about Christmas, there's always Opryland Hotel.

I'm sure they'll have decorations up soon. I haven't been in a while, and I think there's a fee to park now, but it's pretty. I hope that's helpful.

I'll let you know if I think of anything else. Sources: Just a few things off the top of my head. Google Map View Larger Map The Parthenon is in the picture...if you look back from the street near the pond..

Depends on what you like. My tastes tend toward urban cityscapes. The Shelby Street bridge is great for a backdrop of the Nashville skyline.

The dragon at Fannie Mae park (which I think is near Vandy) is a great backdrop for some action shots of the kids enjoying themselves. I also like to take shots around the reflecting pool and Parthenon in Centennial Park or on the lawn around the Capital.

Parthenon and Hermitage The Parthenon and the Hermitage are two picturesque places. There is a decent zoo in Nashville as well as several small riverside parks. You can drive right up to all of these..

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
