Nope! It is a money making scam to fool stupid people.
There is no strong reason to believe that the world will end on or around December 21st 2012. Only vast climatic change, nature disaster and nuclear disaster can end this world but nobody knows when it will happen.
I figured out the Mayan calendar makers just had no more market for their massive stone calendars after the more mobile Julian calendar was introduced. Not wanting to have the world end abruptly in 2012, especially since my daughter graduates from college in 2013, I thought I would extend the calendar through June 2013. If I get enough requests ($$), I might consider extending the end of the world beyond that.
The mayan calender does end in 2012 however the mayans beleived that history repeated itself every 250 years. Because writing hadn't been invented there were no written records to prove them wrong.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
