Tagged As: Heart Healthy Diet Plan Question: Being newly diagnosed with diabetes (Aug) and having had a mild heart attack before Christmas, I have been to 2 separate ducational clinics this week. I find it difficult to reconcile the diet suggestions given, there was little overlap and some points totally opposed. (use of fats, proteins etc.).
Does anyone have a site or other resouce about heart healthy diet plan suitable for both? Answer: It's not hard at all. Just make sure all your proteins and fats are low or zero cholesterol and count your carbs.
I am following a diabetic diet with hubby for support and I have/had high cholesterol. I eat a lot of chicken and fish and extremely low fat cheese or skim milk cottage cheese for protein and use carbs with no added fats. It's a breeze.
I choose breads and cereals that have no added fat, use olive oil very sparingly for stir fries etc (usually a spray only). In salads I use a vinegar, olive oil, mix for the dressing. There are salt free ... more.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
