When you braid your hair you will notice that they end up somehow straighter when you undo the braid or braids. This happens because they stay in one position for too long, but it is not a sign of damage. Braiding your hair actually help you keep your hair untangled and out of harm’s way.
If your hair gets tangled a lot, it is a sure thing that they will have split ends and damaged areas and will look much frayed. If you keep your hair well conditioned and moisture then there is very little chance for your hair to get any damage while it is braided but nonetheless it is also important to leave circulation space for the hair and keeping them unbraided at times. If you keep your hair braided for too long and not wash it when needed then they certainly will get damaged and frayed.
All in all, braiding your hair on a daily basis does not damage them, but it’s actually the condition that you keep your hair in that matters the most.
