Same amount of material in the package, same weight.....but maybe a little less dense. As long as you do not add or remove any material from the package it is going to weigh the same amount as before, regardless of being frozen or thawed. State change does not change the weight of the material.
There is a funny thing about water and ice, due to the bipolar nature of a water molecule they form a crystal lattice that is less dense while freezing. This means water or anything that consists of a lot of water, like meat, will expand when it freezes. Freeze a water bottle or a milk jug and this is readily apparent as the sides or end will be pushed outwards. So it will get bigger by a bit, but weigh the same.
In general, freezing and thawing do not change the mass of the object undergoing the change of state - It might seem that thawed meat weighs less that frozen, though, if during the thawing liquid water is allowed to drain from the thawing meat. However, if the meat is sealed (as it should be) when frozen, and left that way when it thaws, there will be no change of mass. Yes and no Frozen meat weighs more than unfrozen meat only to the extent that during the freezing process water has condensed and frozen on its surface. The meat itself and the water it contains weigh the same.
Strictly speaking, no, the temperature will not affect the weight. Your discussion about having deer meet processed didn't clear this up much. Different size packages may weight different amounts.
They might weight the same amount, and just contain different parts of the deer with different densities (fat, meat, etc. ). During the freezing process water from the atmosphere can condense and freeze on the meat, causing it to weigh a little more, but most freezers are not very humid places, so this should not be much of a problem. Some people inject meat with spices or other liquids for flavor before freezing.
The answer to your question is that temperature should not affect weight. The processing may be another matter. Talk to your butcher.
I hope this helps. 1 Just to clarify - I know the weight when I purchase and freeze meat (duh - to myself). I was asking because we had deer meat processed, packaged and frozen and I didn't know the weight of the packages. Some look different in size.

Does commercial dog food contain meat or fish.
I am looking for the name of a food that I had when I was growing up. It consisted of meat, potatoes and sometimes.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
