It irks me, because they could find the information as easily as anyone else. Also, medical questions seem inappropriate. I can understand if someone wants to hear someone's experience with a thing, but to ask for a diagnosis, just seems inappropriate.
I don't need to hear the intimate details. Also, what's with the surveys, and people seeking information from other people for school assignments? It's true, one need only skip the question....but let's face it, there are a lot of questions taking up space that a person, with a bit of effort could find out for themselves.

You know, if folks did that, I'd be missing most of my "best answers. " Seriously. My favorite way of "winning arguments" is to back up the dump truck and bury the asker under a pile of links and data.
If the askers just Googled the facts themselves, they’d probably mutter "never mind," and wander off instead. Sources: askville.amazon.com/view/ViewUserProfile... Nope! It doesn't bug me! That's what Askville is for, after all.
And I enjoy helping people out. If I feel that they are using me to do their work for them, that's another story. But we don't know what's going on with them, why they want our help rather than doing it themselves.
I know some people have no idea of what words to use to look some things up....or how to narrow it down. We don't all have the same level of expertise in using Google or the other search engines out there, and definitely don't all have the same basic computer skills. Plus, I do think many want that "human" touch they get in answers here, rather than the cut and dried kind of stuff you get from Wikipedia or other websites.
Personal opinions and recommendations are invaluable, I think. As far as medical questions, yes, some are inappropriate. But they are attacked before they are even given a chance to add more info or to answer questions, quite often.
Sometimes people just want some ideas to know how to approach their doctor, to ask more questions of their doctor...but they get attacked for merely bringing the subject up quite often in Askville. I have a medical-type question that I want to ask, but I don't want to deal with the usual response here so I will just keep it to myself. I wouldn't be asking for a medical treatment, only information and suggestions.
But I don't really want to be jumped on for asking here, as we've seen time and time again. I wish people would just post a simple comment, and move on, rather than being rude to the askers. I know the anger and rudeness stems from having so many, but we forget that the asker doesn't know that;they have no idea that anyone has asked a medical question before them, and are probably scared off by the vehement response their simple question garners.
There are very few questions that I feel are inappropriate here. Those suggesting violence, or obsenities or personal attacks are at the top of my list. But most of the rest---to each their own.
There is no apparent limit to the space we have here, so it's not like we will run out of room due to these questions. And we get so many complaints that there aren't any good questions, so I would hate to lose people who might ask those good questions. We need to appeal to all different kinds of people, both the askers and the answers; what you might not like to answer someone else might love to.So, as you say, yes, it's probably best to just skip the ones that don't interest you.
If they didn't allow the ones you don't like, and the ones I don't like and the ones someone else doesn't like...there'd be no questions here! We want everyone to feel welcome here, with very few restrictions on what can and can't be asked/answered. We do get some people asking certain questions just to irritate, and to cause problems.
These questions are usually best left ignored--don't feed the troll. If you only knew how many times this exact same question has been asked! LoL!
Poppet .
The homework questions annoy me most. And even moreso, the people who give the answers to the homework questions! Some people are truly lazy and they don't realize that by the time they ask and post the question, they could have gotten the answer they wanted from Wiki or Yahoo!.
The medical questions are horrendous! "Do I have cancer? " "Am I pregnant?"
I won't even talk about those! And yes, it irks the crap out of me too! .
No, not at all - without the easy questions, I'd have to game the system and answer bogus questions to get gold and points and that would end up making me feel dirty and slimey. The questions that irk me are dumbasses who come on here and ask medical questions, or "am I pregnant" questions that should really be referred to a licensed medical physician. After that, I am afraid of most legal questions, because people taking action based upon what they read on a social networking site is just dangerous.
