Lent definitely means something to me. I even wrote a hub about it a couple of weeks ago. I chose two separate Lenten disciplines this year.My husband (who is NOT Catholic) chose one as well.
Mine were to walk to and from the second bus I take to work, rather then riding the first bus there in the morning and back at night. It's healthy and it gives me time to pray without distraction. I also chose to refrain from commenting on anything anyone said at work - especially the negative - a sort of vow of silence, if you will.
:) My husband despises fish, and generally will not eat it, but he chose to eat it with me on Fridays.
That is amazing. To give up meat on Fridays as a non-Catholic is an accomplishment. Good on you and blessings to your husband!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
