I do believe that my religion has shaped my morals, As a christian I am commanded to love. I have Gay friends, Wiccan friends, and in fact will be giving the bride away at a nonchristian wedding (The Groom is a wiccan). But I also recognize that morality is not always based on religion. It is based on common sense.
If everyone were to lie, than truth would have no meaning. If everyone were to steal, than no-one would understand the meaning of property. Ethics and morality are not limited to religious ideals.
It never has. If it did, than Aesop would have not had a golden rule, jesus would never have died, mohammed would never have preached, and moses would still be with his brethren in Egypt.
I think any belief in a better lifestyle will make any person better, whether it be in aerobics, healthy food, self help courses. As for religion that is a different ball altogether. A religion will not, the jews had religion - a bunch of rules of abide by - and they constantly failed or just gave up.
With jesus you don't really have to do anything accept jesus a your personal savior and the rest is up to you. If you clean up your life and become unaddicted to drugs, or spread cheer and laughter wherever you go or become holy and sit on a mountain top. God brought jesus here to show us love and to give us something tangible to love.
The closer to jesus we get the more our life automatically syncs with Gods and that will make a morally sound person for sure. There are no guarantees, as much as a person wants to change a person will change, christ or not, this has been the problem with the church for all of the church age and with individuals who refuse to listen to what god wants and disobey and spend the rest of their christianity in the wilderness. Not everybody can do it, its hard work but worth it.
I bealve your morals come from your teachings of right and wrong you can find theese teachings in allmost every relgion there is they all teach based on the same beliefs of what is right I defently think yes reijion has a big part in you being morally sound.
In my opinion. Not at all. Religion is just someones belief.
What they do with there lives is there choice. They can choose to be immoral or be the nicest person on this earth. I cant think of how to word the rest of the stuff I was gonna say so ima cut it off here.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
