I think it depends on the society. In some cases there is not enough emphasis on sports. Let me break it down .. .
Sports in school: I think for most school districts the emphasis is just right. There are several active sports activites with a fair amount of funding. This helps keep kids active and healthy.
Sports Activities: There is not enough emphasis on this. One of the biggest problems the USA faces is medical issues linked with weight and a sedintary life style. I think parks should have programs related to tennis, ultimate frisbee, or other games that can be played with a minimal amount of expence.
Companies should consider sponsored events for sports programs to improve the health of employees, this could even aid the company by creating healthier happier employees, thus improving productivity and employee retention. Watching Sports/Professional Sports There is too much emphasis on this. The great passtime for many people is sitting on a park bench or sitting on a couch with a beer in one hand and a burger in the other.
We have marketed sports as something to watch so that we may view the best of the best clash on TV or in a stadium. I think that there are small things that we can do to help set things straight. 1) Consider sports outings with your friends and family, getting a bunch of people to play disk golf, mini-golf, or bowling is a fairly inexpensive way to have a great time.2) Support small sports, support local teams, let more people get a modest living from sports.3) Support work sports/town sports.
Try to start a small program at work or in your town. You will get to meet people have fun and get healthy.4) Search for small sports on the internet. If franchises start earning money from a web presence it may help the team get the attention of sponsors.
I used to think society put too much emphasis on sports. I was one of those nerds in school who protested because they spent 100 times on football what they spent on the speech team. Now that I am 46 and my speed is slowing down, my perspective has changed.
Most Americans need some sort of incentive or motivation to do physical activity.
Absolutely. Sports play a significant role in ALL societies. As soon as one player makes it as a star athlete, society makes them a role-model.
Now you have probably one of the biggest influences to our children growing up. Entire cities put stadium building costs to vote. I’d say that’s a pretty direct impact on a society of people.
Sports also create gambling. Now gambling has an effect on an entire country, which is just simply amazing. Take the Super Bowl next weekend for instance.
You will actually hear them talk about the betting during the broadcast of the big game. Then imagine what the outcomes were to the individuals who won. Probably made an uplifting story in many places, maybe even a charitable donation to some youth organization, which in turn affects society.
Now the negative influence would really make change. A politician or sports figure gets caught gambling and then the society that embraced them now has to determine what there own values are. I have to say that sports are a part of society that maybe does have too much emphasis on it.
But you can’t tell that to the kid playing for Notre Dame earning his law degree on a women’s basketball scholarship that. She is thankful that we do love our sports. See, sports create opportunity.
Opportunity changes society. Wow, kind of deep when you think about how much sports does affect us.
I think so as sports is a best form of exercise and wherever we spend our studies (since pre-school), sports is always included in our curriculum esp. In Physical Education. And it is necessary for everyone.
If you don't have sports, for me, you miss the half of your life, lol. But for some, sports has been part of their lives and they live with it. That is why we have the NBA, NHL, MLB, etc.I myself can play volleyball, softball, basketball, table tennis, badminton and tennis.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
