Does today's shooting in California mean more calls for us to take guns from law abiding citizens?

Ban guns and the mass shootings will only get worse. Guns are not going to cease to exist just because they're banned. California has the strictest gun laws in the nation and that didn't stop this one.

No, banning guns won't solve the problem. Crack is illegal(banned) yet I could still go to any street corner in any city in the US and buy some. Same with guns.

Ban them all you want.. they will still be readily available.. and being banned, there would be no registry and no way to track who owns what gun.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
