Don't rich people already pay more taxes than the middle and lower class?

The super-rich pay their taxes at a 15% capital gains rate, rather than the higher federal income tax rate that the rest of us pay. Unless you can somehow put every penny you make into a 401(k) (note: you can't) you have to pay the federal rate. CEOs, on the other hand, can get almost all their pay as stock, which lets them pay at 15%.

It doesn't stop there, however. By offshoring their money, the rich can avoid paying any tax at all, at least until they bring it back to the US. They simply stash it overseas until Republicans take office, whereupon they pass a tax repatriation holiday which allows these wealthy moochers to bring their money back home and pay a ridiculously small rate like 4%.

That's not an option for those of us who have to pay bills with our pay. There are many, many more loopholes and avoidance strategies that the wealthy can use but not the middle or lower class. These are not available to anyone who actually needs their pay to keep themselves alive.

Don't pretend otherwise.

You pay a LOWER tax rate later. This isn't really the point. Romney uses much more sophisticated tax avoidance techniques than a 401k.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
