Don't we need to be able to rate the questions? Writing good questions is just as important as writing good answers?

Writing good questions is just as important as writing good answers.... Askville needs well written and thought provoking questions just as much as it needs good answers. It is frustrating when the questioner states in the discussion section that the answers weren't really what he wanted to know, and what he really wanted to know is "blah blah blah". One wonders why he didn't just ask that to begin with.

Some questions are too vague or incomplete with little or no background information. Also, sometimes the grammar is just too confusing to understand. I think a rating system for questions would give users enough motivation to offer more thoughtful and better written questions.

No, I don't think so... Then it would be even easier to gang up on someone who asks an unpopular or polarized question. I would like to see a category added to the "report abuse" for "not a question" where someone can't understand how to write a question properly, or forsomeone who asks a rhetorical question and uses this medium as a pulpit.

We do We rate them by not responding to dumb questions. There are some who will respond to anything just for the gold. There are some who ask dumb questions just so they can get as many questions posted as possible, again for the gold.

The only way to prevent this is to limit the weekly number of questions asked and answered. You know this won't happen. I suggest that nobody respond to dumb questions.By the way, I almost skipped this question.

Borderline...

Not a bad idea Your assessment seems pretty fair. For this website to grow into something useful, there has to be a sort of filtering of all parts of the process. Too many of the questions on here are a bit ridiculous..

Great idea! I also think it would deter people from writing questions simply for the points: I'm new to this but I've already noticed a lot of useless questions that are obviously asked for no intellectual purpose. I propose you submit this suggestion to .. .. Um .... Somebody in charge ;) .

I agree Although I may be the target of your frustration I agree. I'd lik eto be able to rate questions. More so though I'd like to know what people think of the questions I ask.

Sometimes I ask not becasue I need an answer but so people will think about it and I'd like to hear other opinions.

Do you ..." "I wish I had the opportunity to rate all of the answers in appealed questions. Does anyone else agree? " "I have a 60 page ebook that I am in the process of writing.

Can I sell this on Amazon? " "How often do you rate answers on questions you didn't answer? " "Writing a factual book - questions on copyright, etc." "Why do people ask questions and then never bother to rate the answers?

" "Do you typically go back to rate answers for questions you have asked or answered? " "How can I get a job writing Bonus Questions?" "I'm writing a chick lit novel that I wish to publish soon. Does anybody know how important is word count to publishers?

Writing a factual book - questions on copyright, etc.

I'm writing a chick lit novel that I wish to publish soon. Does anybody know how important is word count to publishers?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
