I have heard that some endometriosis sufferers have found that when they avoid certain foods or exercise regularly their symptoms are less severe. Has anyone out there experienced this, & if so, exactly what did you do (i.e. What foods did you avoid or what type of exercise & how often)?

Exercise may help symptoms of endometriosis. It has been a long time since I was treated for deabilitating endometriosis. However at the time I did find exercise to help.
I went out running and did belly-dancing. Extra calciium helped some. I also had pretty bad PMS.
Yesterday in our public library I looked at a very good book that covers all aspects of endometriosis. It was very clear and understandable. It addressed your question extensively.
I wish I had had it when I was younger. It is one of those yellow and black DUMMIES books called: Endometriosis For Dummies (For Dummies (Health & Fitness)) by Joseph, MD Krotec and Sharon, RN Perkins (Paperback - Nov 6, 2006) Buy new: $21.99 $16.49 75 Used & new from $8.75 I got the price reference from amazon. ComI hope this helps and you find answers.
This condition is frustrating. Sources: my opinion .
Here is some information with notes from my experience. NSAIDs for pain and inflammation (Advil or Motrin): Start taking the recommended dose as soon as your discomfort begins or the day before your menstrual period is scheduled to start. Take the medicine in regularly scheduled doses.
Taking the medicine only when your pain is “really bad” is not as effective. If one type of NSAID does not relieve your pain, try another type. Or try acetaminophen, such as Tylenol.(My kidneys became sensitive to NSAIDs so I can no longer take any of them)Apply heat to your lower abdomen with a heating pad or hot water bottle, or take a warm bath.
Heat improves blood flow and may relieve pelvic pain. (This always helped me a lot). Lie down and elevate your legs by placing a pillow under your knees.
When lying on your side, bring your knees up to your chest to relieve back pressure. (Ditto)Use relaxation techniques and biofeedback.(Didn't work for me until I got older)Exercise regularly. It improves blood flow, increases certain pain-relieving substances naturally made by the body (endorphins), and reduces pain.(I found exercises that involved the muscles of the "body core" helped most if done while pain was minimal, but when I had a lot of pain exercise made it worse)Take birth control pills for pain and to limit growth of the extraneous tissue, limiting exercise.(This worked for me but made other changes I didn't like so I stopped after a year)-------------------------------These are things I never tried but some people recommend:If birth control pills don't work your doctor can give you something stronger, such as a gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRH-a), high-dose progestin, a progestin intrauterine device (Mirena), or danazol.
Acupuncture and acupressure are used to relieve pain and to help treat some health conditions, including asthma and osteoarthritis and seem to help with endometriosis. Meditation is used to lower stress and relieve pain and to help treat some health conditions, including high blood pressure. It has some success with endometriosis pain.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
