Freelancers: When someone asks "How much do you charge for X" how do you come up with an answer? Do you just pull a number out of your butt?

Here is my suggestion. First off occassion pulling numbers would be okay for things like additions to the original job and so on, but you should sit down and set up a price for each type of job you do. The add the additional prices for little additions of work.

That way you have your standard rates. Or you can set up a specific hourly rate. I say this because you want to be a good business man or woman and not let others think you are just shooting numbers at them.

If one friend says "oh they only charged me a hundred for that," and you charged the other one 200 it would seem like you ripped one off even if you didn't. Do you see what I am saying? Hope this helps!

No, the money is thought according to the time consumed to do that and also the level of expertise required to accomplish the job.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
