Function of isolation valve in the compressed air?

Used to take the system out of service. Only required if there is another compressor which can backfeed into the one taken out of service.

An isolation valve is a valve that is installed in a compressed air system to isolate some portion of the system for repair or maintenance. It can be located at the compressor(s), the air receiver(s), air dryer(s) and even in a large system some portion of the distribution piping.
