Yes, I have noticed this But you can modify your recommendations and your browsing history so that it doesn't show those items. As a Customer Service Associate at Amazon. Com I have to look up tons of stuff under my account and I get tired of having all these weird recommendations show up.
I personally discovered how to fix this. There are three tabs on the top of the page at Amazon.com. When you are signed in, it greets you by name and the middle tab also has your name.
If you click that tab when you are signed in, and then click the first link in the blue bar at the top of the screen that says "Your Browsing story" it will let you delete items on the left of the page. Just click the X after any item that you don't want under your browsing history. I just did it myself and it worked!
It means going in and doing it once a day if you use the site frequently, but at least there is a way to change your history! Recomendations are a little different. They are based on stuff you have purchased and stuff you own.
Try it, it should work for you! Sources: my knowledge, amazon. Com .
Yes It's really annoying and because of it I use less widgets than I used to. I've sent in a suggestion that they need to separate what we do in Askville from what we do in Amazon. It's bad enough that my husband orders textbooks through my account and I log on to see that I might want to buy some $300 programming book for a language I never heard of--and also get emails telling me the same thing!
Now I'm confronted with all sorts of stuff I have no real interest in buying. And even taking the time to edit the recommendations page to say "I'm not interested" over and over doesn't help much. If they want to give us points for using Amazon widgets and suggesting Amazon products, they need to keep the two separate--or at least give us the option of asking to keep them separate!.
Oh, big time I'm reminded of the "My TiVo Thinks I'm Gay" story from a few years back. There used to be buttons that said, "Ignore this for the purpose of making recommendations", but that would be pretty tedious for the sheer number of things I end up examining in the course of using the widgets. Personally, I end up doing most of my searches in Amazon itself, since the "search for products" search that Askville uses is abominable.(I don't know why it's different from the main Amazon one.) And I think that gives them a very skewed view of who I am.
You could use a separate browser for it. I use Firefox primarily but use IE for certain operations where I want a different set of cookies (i.e.To let GMail keep me logged in twice on the same computer). But that's also pretty tedious..
Yes I have Ed. My recommendations have always been a little squirrelly because of gifts that I buy for other people but now they are really weird. I wonder if it is the actual widgets we choose or the things that we search for or look at.
Whatever it is I have found recommendations for stuff here lately like toys, books about cars, and women’s clothing. None of which I am apt to buy. Well maybe a nice pair of nylons but that’s entirely another kettle of fish, LOL!
Fortunately I never use the recommendations all that much so it doesn’t bother me that much. Sources: my experience KingofRandomCrap's Recommendations Leg Avenue Women's Sheer Thigh ghs with Lace Top #1011 Amazon List Price: $6.00 Average Customer Rating: 4.0 out of 5 (based on 1 reviews) .
Yes, it does It's not a surprise. You have to login to Askville with Amazon credentials, and you use standard Amazon search. Search results are one of the sources to create recommendatons.
For Amazon's backend it doesn't make any difference which website do you use.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
