I did not, but my Brother did ,and he said it was a must see, and he is a real movie nut .
The special effects are great! No spoilers here. The movie attempts to bring together all of the main characters in the original serices when they were relatively young.
The first meeting between the different characters has already been described in several different books, and this movie does not follow those books. It takes great literary license with the Star Trek universe. It was a very enjoyable movie, but I just wanted to warn you that if you were a Star Trek "purist", you will be shaking your head and saying "that is not the way it happened" many times during this movie. It is a fun story using the characters, planets, and technology of the Star Trek universe, but it does not fit in to any time line of the current Star Trek movies and books.
Yes, it is worth seeing. Credibility is strained many times in the movie, but if you just go with it, you will have a good time. The original series and movies tried to explain at least a little bit of the technology that let them have these adventures.
This movie takes a "technology can do anything" stance, and very little explanation is attempted. Have fun..
Yes If you are an avid Trekkie - there maybe one or two things you may not like about the new film, however the film does provide a plausible reason. If you are an avid film fan - then you may find some issues with the lack of back story on the villian. Overall it is a fun, action packed film.
I have seen it twice and may see it again.
It seems to have lots of action but the plot is so full of holes you could drive the Nasa transporter through! The writers suck to infinity and beyond! But I did like the movie regardless!.
I was a tad dissapointed with the movie when I saw it. I was even more disappointed with the movie afterwards when I thought about it, then read a article on "future weapons systems. " Basically, the Vulcans have no anti-missile technology.
When I read that line I chuckled ane realized that the writer was pinning down another plot hole, and there are too many of them for the sake of action sequences. Back up three movies to Insurrection and re-write that one. Or two, and rework Nemesis to bring Wesley Crusher into the story instead of being all about Data (just because he's the Spock clone for TNG?) This movie is a logical outgrowth of the series losing its way years ago.
First Contact was excellent, but Berman & Co. Missed the point Star Wars made that MOST fans of sci-fi aren't there for the techie stuff but for the myths + characters..

I have 29 tapes of classic Star Trek episodes and movies in the Beta format. Would they be worth selling on eBay?
If you could write the next star trek movie what next movie be. Your version.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
